I never click on Amazon videos.
But I watched this video 👇
Why?
⤷ I had no choice.
Let’s take a step back.
When shopping on Amazon, I almost always do it from my iPhone. As much as I’m on my computer daily for work, my shopping is done on my iPhone.
So I was looking for some melatonin gummies. I’m a father of three kids under 9. I NEED good sleep. It’s crucial for performing good at work & life during the day. (Steven Pope drilled this into my head)
I searched “melatonin gummies”.
Instantly this brand ad came up and auto played.
No option.
No press play.
No ad blockers.
No chance to avoid.
These ad types are forced - whether you like it or not.
And I watched it.
Twice.
Was it compelling for me to click?
⤷ No.
But I watched it.
The point here is you really want to focus on WHAT the video is going to demonstrate and convey to the consumer.
Show the product.
Show the value prop.
Show the reason why I need it.
Shoppers have no choice but to watch - even for a split second.
