This seems to be a new Amazon Ads placement and this one doesn't feel right at all, why in the world is this an ad placement at all?
This is not a good customer experience, costs brands money it shouldn't be spending for this spot, and takes away legitimacy that customers might have actually bought these items together.
This has always been a spot for Amazon (or really ANY ecommerce site) to upsell customers based on data - where they're finding customers that buy items together - they recommend it to the customer.
Amazon This placement needs to be eliminated.
